Personal Shopper: 'Welcome Home' clothes for Jen's Christmas Eve reunion with her military hubby

Jen writes: Dear Outblush, I am a huge fan and your editors bring me much joy (and financial pain:) in my workday. I have a personal shopper request, but I apologize for its ambiguity--I'm truly at a loss! My awesome husband is coming home (hopefully) on Christmas Eve for his two week R & R break from his 13 month tour in Iraq. I'm drawing a complete blank over what to wear to pick him up at the airport. I don't want to be overdressed or oversexy-ed, but I obviously want to look my best for this occasion! It goes without saying I don't want to break the bank either. Any suggestions? I'm a curvy 5'3, size ten, ample-chested gal. I appreciate any help! Thanks! Jen

Oh, Jen, Jen, you know he'd think you were gorgeous if you showed up in a ratty bathrobe, right? We totally get where you're coming from, though, wanting to look fabulous, but not overdone. Let's call it "casually gorgeous." We know you're a little time-challenged, so we wanted to find some options that you could pick up at your local mall. We also wanted to make sure that you and your sweet hubby have plenty of "fun money" for when he's home, so we kept our eye on the budget.

We've included a pair of pants that you could pair with any of the tops and a really cute pair of heels, or you could just as easily team one of these tops up with your favorite "hey-my-ass-looks-great-in-these" jeans. Or, how about a fun, flirty dress with a pair of killer boots?

#1
You can wear these Old Navy Women's Ponte-Knit Trousers ($35) with anything. They travel like a dream without wrinkling and the beautiful drape of the wide-leg pant will flatter your curves.

#2
The Women's Ruffled Button-Down Blouse (also from Old Navy, for $18) is a feminine take on the classic button down. It's a top that's sure to impress him now, but also one that you're likely to find plenty of reason to wear later.

#3
Sweet and sassy, Macy's One World Dress, Bell Sleeve Smocked V-Neck Printed Babydoll ($40) will play up your curves in a fun, flirty way.

#4
Just picture this lightweight Gap V-Neck Sweater ($35) on your body. We love the way it's a bit more fitted in the areas we need definition and a little looser where we can use room.

#5
We like the way this Ruched Dolman T ($25) from Gap hints at being sexy, without being overt. A hint of anything is always so much more interesting.

We're sending a big hug to you, Jen, and please tell that man of yours how grateful your friends at Outblush are to him for the sacrifices he makes every day.

Thank you so much for the love! You made my day with your great answer! I think I'm going to go the dress and boots route, but you're right I think my husband will probably be overjoyed no matter what I wear. I, however, know I'll be criticizing the pictures later! Thank you so much for all you do!
