Personal Shopper: Tall Girl Tips for C.J.

C.J. says, "I'm tall, like WNBA tall , 6'1", add to that I have big feet as well, size 13, ugh. Any tips for tall girls, or suggestions on where I can find smart, fashionable stuff that will actually fit me? I have comfy casual clothes up the wazoo, but it'd be nice to add some style to my fashion and actually look like a woman every once in a while. Thanks much, C.J."

Robin here, and girl, I feel your pain, but now it seems my years towering over peers and wearing mens tennis shoes has paid off because I can help YOU! You're probably aware of the retailers that carry tall sizes - Gap, Old Navy (online), J. Crew (online), Ann Taylor LOFT, etc, but here are a few that might be new to you:

Boden has a good selection of pants, skirts, and dresses, all available in tall sizes. Their stuff is chic, stylish, and great for looking pulled together every day:
1. Flared Uptown Trousers ($35 on sale)
2. Pencil Skirt ($58 on sale)

Long Tall Sally, a.k.a. heaven, is a site devoted to tall girls. They have a huge selection of clothing, ranging from jeans (that you can sort by size/inseam) to suits. Perhaps best of all, they have shoes up to size 14, including several pairs of 13s (not just one lonely athletic shoe in your size!).
3. Parasuco Fanny Jean ($109)
4. Lanford Cardigan ($75)
5. Jamil Boot ($125, in size 13!)

As far as shoes, Zappos and Nordys are your friends, and personally, I've had great luck with Me Too shoes being stylish, comfortable, and actually fitting a larger foot.
6. Me Too Stellina ($62 on sale, available in 6 colors)

Thanks for the tips! I have to say, however, I was bummed when I went to look at the Boden website that their "talls" don't count. 33 inch inseam won't cut it, and at some stores is considered "normal". If you're over 6 foot (I'm 6'2, 13 shoe) a 36 or 38 inch inseam is tall.

On that note, I also have to put in a shout out for Banana Republic too, who also have 36, even 38 inch, inseams, and everything in their talls is well proportioned for over 6 foot.

WoW! What a super fast response to my shopping call for help.

Very cool picks. Def up on some of your selections, never really hunted Nordstrom for shoes before, and Boden is a new place to scope out.

Next on my quest, finding a classic trench and leather jacket.

Thanks a bunch. :)

As someone who is actually 6'1" as well, I have your same issue with pants. The sites recommended did not seem too useful. The Boden site does not cut it at all, we need a minimum of 37" inseams. For work pants I do not know where to go, but for jeans go to Buckel jeans. They have 37" inseams. I recently found Buckel and was able to get three pairs of jeans in one night. And one is a stylish skinny pair! So cool!

Also the brand Paige Jeans run long. Not all pairs fit, but if you can put in the time to try them all on, you should get lucky. The two pairs of dress pants I have come from Zara. Most pants from Zarando not fit, but again every so often you get lucky.

Boden is helpful for dresses and skirts if you choose the "long" sizes, but not long enough for pants. I've gotten lots of help from
