Says Lauren:"So I absolutely adore this rug by Megan Park sold at The Rug Company. Unfortunately, I nearly fainted when I saw the pretty little price tag that went along with it ($1,950 for 5' x 3' up to $28,080 for a 18' x 12'). I thought I would ask you gals since you are the experts to try to find a more budget friendly rug that was equally as beautiful but that wouldn't send the paramedics running."
Well, Lauren, if the paramedics are going to come, you'll at least have something comfortable to lie on. Right?
Shut up, Marian.
Okay, I guess that won't do. What you seem to be looking for is a big, relatively traditional, non-gaudy floral on a dark background, and the first thing to get out there is that when I went looking for rugs of that description, Safavieh's Chelsea collection came up over and over and over again. It encompasses quite a lot of pretty designs, so I'd browse them ASAP. See the 1) Rose Black pattern ($150-$500) for an example. This 2) Black Multi pattern from Surya ($50-$745) has more of the muted tones of your Megan Park rug, though it's not strictly speaking a rose design. For a browner background, there's this 3) Carnation Wool Rug ($73, only one size), and for a much more muted, dreamy look, there's the 4) Fiesta rug from Sphinx ($149-$389). The 5) Nourison Julian pattern ($245-$1069) is perhaps the farthest afield from what you chose, but the definite outlines of the blooms, the pale foliage, and the way that the brown background seems to have a little cream mixed in all reminded me of your original choice - and my, it's pretty.
If you end up digging your toes into any of these, Lauren, drop us a line!

I have a very similar rug that came from Home Decorators Collection. It is 100% wool and feels wonderful underfoot and it was just two or three hundred dollars (mine is a 14 foot runner). You should look there.

It's important to remember though, when buying hand made and foreign made rugs, that you don't buy rugs made by children! Yikes! This is all too common in India. The big clue? Handmade rugs that are too cheap to believe......

Hi, Lauren, and thanks so much for writing back! #5 was a bit of a stretch, I know, so I'm glad it paid off!
