Personal Shopper: Melt-No-More Makeup for Leslie

Leslie writes: "First off, Outblush is my favorite new-to-me site of the year. Second, I have a big problem. My much younger sister is getting married outside. In August. In Kentucky. This means it will be hot and humid and muggy (on top of, you know, sweet and beautiful and stylish). So! Here's what I need: a foundation that looks natural but gives great coverage for beautiful photographs and won't run, smear, blotch, or drip off my face. (I don't think the zombie look will fit my sister's rustic vintage theme.) If I also need a base or moisturizer or some sort of miracle spray or powder, fine. And if everything will do the job, I really don't care about the price."

I beat up Robin for this one. PS It's Magzilla. As a Hawaiian girl, I gave up on foundation. You are a stronger person than I am to persevere against humidity and heat; you can find me inside or under water. Follow these steps to a melt-free day so you are looking fierce from "I do" to "Bon voyage!"

Step One:
1: MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 ($30)
2: Smashbox Jumbo Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($49)

Step Two:
3:Clinique Work-Out Makeup ($22)
4:Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Makeup ($38)

Step Three:
5: Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray ($29)
6: Urban Decay All-Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray To-Go ($11)

I actually have all of those products! Just one suggestion, Leslie could actually forgo the primer all together since DeSlick is supposed to be sprayed before and after makeup. I live in Houston where it's a thousand degrees and humidity is at 100% all day everyday. Plus I have the oiliest skin and those steps I mentioned work for me. After she sprays DeSlick over her makeup, set it with powder and she should be good until the next touch up. If she still wants to use the primer then she only needs All Nighter.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! And Erica, thanks for the suggestion. I have oily skin.

I agree with Erica 100%!! I use Deslick almost everyday in this humid NY weather I always forgo the primer! I also suggest carrying a little translucent powder with you to dab up any oil during the big day. That will also help reduce the risk of smudging or splotching! Go easy under your eyes though because that area will get dried out quickly from too much product (and too many drinks?) Enjoy your sister's wedding!
