Personal Shopper: Long White Cardi for Amanda

Amanda writes, "Well hello there, If anybody can help me out, it's you guys. I'm going to give myself a stroke looking for an article of clothing. I've spent hours online and at the mall, to no avail. What is this crazy item, you may ask? I'm looking for a white cardigan. Wait, I'm not done. Here are the specifications:

long (the longer, the better--at least past my butt)
short sleeves
button closure

It sounds easy, I know, but believe me, it may not exist. I can find cardigans that have all but one of the qualities I'm looking for (for instance, there are a billion flyaways that ALMOST fit the bill, but they obviously don't have buttons. Does it exist, Outblush? Any help is appreciated! Amanda"

Hi Amanda! We took into account all of your cardi requirements, as well as your budget ($50) and came up with a few options that may work for you. But if you're still not feeling like any of these is THE ONE, we've got some suggestions on how to take matters into your own hands! The first--and easiest, though most costly--is to take an "almost cardigan" to a local tailor and have him or her alter it to your needs. In this case, the easiest things to remedy are hemming long sleeves into short sleeves or sewing on buttons to one of the thousands of flyaway cardis out there. If you're not crazy about spending the money (it could be between 20 and 50 dollars depending on the amount of work needed), and fancy yourself a bit handy with a needle, use Youtube as a go-to place to find good tutorials on how to alter your garment. There are tons of button sewing guides that should make creating your perfect cardigan a cinch! Good luck!

1 - Knit Button Down Top ($53) A little over the budget, forgive us!

2 - White Short Sleeve Cardigan (£18, on sale) Around 26 dollars

3 - Short-Sleeve Year-Round Cardigan ($50)

I kind of want to piggyback off this question. I have a long white cardigan with white sleeves, but I feel like I'm wearing a lab coat every time I wear it. Is there any way to dress it up so that it looks more stylish and less doctor-ish?

Sorry I meant long sleeves, not white sleeves, haha.

Target also has some super cute cardigans many colors (white included) long, button front, and about $18. Not very fancy but always good in a pinch.
