Personal Shopper: Extended Calf Boots for Patricia and Kaity

Patricia hit us up on Facebook and said, "I am DYING here! I need HELP!!! I am searching, unsuccessfully I might add, for a fashionable, flat to low heeled black boot for someone with big feet/calves. That's right...I need a size 11 and an extended calf. (insert groan here) I'd love for this boot to be $250 or under."

And then we got an e-mail from Kaity saying "I have always loved the look of tall leather boots in the fall and winter, but as a girl with curves I can never find ones that will fit over my calves! I have size 9-9 1/2 feet and would like a pair that went up to my knees, and I'm 5'9 so nothing with a heel over 3 inches. Also something under $200 would be great but if they're the perfect pair i might splurge! As always I'm sure you guys will find some amazing possibilities for my larger than average legs?"

Alright ladies, Robin here, and let me say, I've been feeling your pain. I'm a size 12 extended calf girl myself and every season I hunt for boots. Here are 5 options, most of which are available in black and brown (some in grey!). Also, here's a few tips from one fatted calf to another: Eddie Bauer has a decent selection of extended calf boots. If you're looking for something cheap and trendy, hit up Torrid's boots. As always, Zappos usually has a good selection. Those retailers are featured below, but here's the secret: J. Crew has extended calf boots that are pricey, but go on sale at the end of the season, and are just gorgeous. Also, we recently featured these Corso Como boots that have sneaky gussets in the back, but aren't big ugly elastic panels. Gussets are our friends. Good luck!

I have abnormally large calves for a girl my size. Size 6 shoe.

I love knee high boots. Tall, flat.

Once in a LONG time I'll find a pair that will fit my calves. Would be great if you posted some heeled knee high boots for the big calved girls too! :)

Also! Rain boots that fit larger calves and can fit a pair of jeans tucked inside.

For the seriously wide calved girls out there, check out WideWidths.com. I've never purchased boots from there, but I know of people who have found good solutions from that site. :)
