Carolyn writes us with an all-too-common wedding day dilemma: "I'm getting married next June and I wanted to provide as much help finding a dress as I can for my bridesmaids. All three happen to be under 5'4", gorgeous and pear shaped. I think the rule is to draw the eye up and find a dress that flows off or away from the hips?? There seem to plenty of dresses out there for that body type, but the problem is, we just keep falling in love with expensive dresses. We love love love Jim Hjelm's 5053 in the Fall 2010 collection (in Acorn color) and Watters and Watters 6451 (in Acorn or Slate Blue color), but they're both over $200. Can you help me find a few dresses that are under $200, flattering for my girls, and close to either of those colors (the slate blue or champagne/acorn)?"
Hey Carolyn, MP here, as a lady who has far too often been a bridesmaid and never a bride, I can't tell you how awesome it is that you are worried about the most flattering fit for your ladies, and also about how deep they'll be digging in their pockets. We've rounded up some great A-line, strapless, tea length dress - all great for a pear shaped lady, and all under $135! Don't worry, while all the pics aren't shown in your Acorn or Slate Blue, they are available in your color scheme. We know you'll find something to make those girls shine!
Have a beautiful and blessed big day (send us pics)!
