Caty wrote, "I love your personal shopper sections for clothing, but do you take skincare requests as well? I have fair skin and, if I do say so myself, it is beautiful everywhere... except on my face. I struggle with my uneven complexion like no other. I don't have rosacea, but I always look flushed. The problem ares: my cheeks and both sides of my nose. Do you have any skincare/foundation suggestions that might help even out the redness in my face? Please help!"
Caty, I'm the same. I have skin so fair it blinds passersby, even in summer, and naturally occurring redness in the same spots on my face. I've rounded up a few favorite redness-reducing lotions/cleansers, plus some concealers and makeup. You can either use yellow- or green-tinted concealer to reduce redness, but I find yellow easier to blend. Unless you're a makeup artist used to blending & layering, green has a tendency to make you look vaguely nauseated! Mineral foundation will also be great for evening skin tone and reducing irritants that can redden skin further.

I personally use the Smashbox green color-correcting primer. Never've had any problems blending it. Looooooooove. (It's cheaper to buy it in the half-oz. size -- 2 half-ozs is cheaper than one full oz. Weird.)

I would recommend Avene Redness Relief Cream. I use it as my daily moisturizer as it has 25 spf as well.
