I don't think I can completely overhaul at once, but I think I could start by getting rid of my hooded sweatshirts, zip-ups and cartoon t-shirts and replace them with, well, more 'grown up' stuff! I could probably use more grown-up jeans and shoes as well, but it's all so overwhelming! I generally default to 'medium', or around a 6-7 for tops. For pants, it depends on where I get them from, but usually around a 6! Jeans are always a 28 waist, 32-33 length. Shoes I'm an 8. I'd like to keep each item under $100 (I'm still a graduate student!), and I'm looking for mostly casual/work clothes since I do spend most of the day in a lab coat anyways! Although my going-out clothes could also use an overhaul! I've been a University student for 11 years, so I haven't really needed to change anything - until now! Not only am I turning 30, I'm hoping to get out in to the 'real world' and get a big girl job!"
Hi Jean! Mitchy here, and it sounds to me like you're maybe a little wary of throwing out your fun clothes in lieu of power suits and white button-ups, so I picked out more transitional pieces that won't make you feel like you're playing dress-up. These four outfits that feature some fun-but-not-too-cartoony pieces, as well as some basics that will hopefully last you awhile without breaking the bank. Good luck out there!
