Jamie B. writes: "Stumbled upon your site today...LOVE IT! I need some ideas for a "black tie welcome" dress for a summer wedding in Toronto that won't break the bank. I'm looking for something not too wild (I'm over 35) but not dowdy (I'm under 50). I don't get to go to many black tie events so I was thinking of something more classic and less trendy that hopefully could be used again in a year or two. About size 8-10. Thnxs!"
HI Jamie! I'm Found of You. If you want something you can use again and you don't go to many formal events, I'd suggest skipping the long formal gown. "Black Tie Welcome" means that formal gowns are welcome, but you don't have to wear one. Try wearing a cocktail dress with a fancy, red carpet feel to it. Add your most expensive looking jewelry and shoes, and you'll look great at the wedding!
