Inspired by the memory of breaking the dress code conformity of Catholic school as a child with whatever accessories she could get her hands on and a desire to give back where she knew there was a need, Sheena Matheiken started The Uniform Project. Everyday, for an entire year she will wear the same, simple black dress (created by friend and designer - Eliza Starbuck). Each outfit is made unique by the addition of an incredible array of shoes, tights, jewelery, scarves and more. Whether the origin of her frills and baulbles is a friend, a donation (many of her socks and tights are from Sock Dreams), or her own closet, every outfit is a testament to the power of creativity - click through a few days and you'll have to make an effort to even notice the dress. At the end of the year all funds raised will be donated to The Akanksha Foundation - "a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India."
