Sweetheart CD

This year's Starbucks Sweetheart CD ($13) is on constant rotation for us right now. The covers of 'love songs' (loosely interpreted) by contemporary artists is a pleasant compilation for head over heels lovebirds, but the mix is also mellow enough for those of us out there who recognize that sometimes love ain't all that grand. Noteworthy tracks (in our opinion) are The Long Winters' slow and sweet adaptation of ZZ Top's Give Me All Your Lovin' and Mates of States' upbeat, bittersweet cover of Long Way Home by Tom Waits.
