Most of our favorite television shows are finished for the season, so we figure this is the perfect opportunity to catch up on a few new shows that have been under the radar. Bates Motel is A&E's twisted re-imagining of Alfred Hitchcock's famous movie, Psycho. Everyone knows how that movie ends, but this show explores the history of the iconic Norman Bates originally missed on screen. Set in contemporary times, Freddie Highmore stars as the young Norman, a polite and humble teenager, who bubbles with strangeness right below the surface. Always nearby is Vera Farmiga, as Norman's fragile and equally explosive mother, Norma. The series takes place after Norma's husband dies, when she purchases a motel in a new town so she and Norman can start a new life. They both find, however, that the secrets of this sleepy town are much darker than they imagined and what unfolds is a suspenseful journey down the rabbit hole.
