Holiday Party Looks Under $150: Chic Soiree

We all end up attending a frabjillion holiday parties, and want to look like the belle of the jingle ball at each one. We've also all got to-gift lists as long as our arm. Budget-wise, those two statements don't always go hand-in-hand, so each of us OB editors have come up with a complete head-to-toe holiday party look for different types of parties for $150 or less. That way, you'll look like the special snowflake you are, while still having a little cash left over to buy Great Aunt Mildred that bath powder set she's been dropping hints about.

Whether you're throwing the shin-dig or attending the festivities elsewhere, a chic soiree is an excellent opportunity to show 'em what you're working with. Class up the joint with a sexy number and let the dress do the talking. Pair it with some toned down accessories that say more about your style level than your ability to wear earrings the size of dinner plates. And since you'll be indoors, your coat will hopefully find a closet or guest bed to reside on while you and your adorable clutch hobnob with budget friendly shoes you can wear more than once a year. Don't forget the hostess gift; a bottle of wine is always an excellent option. Especially when you can bring two for the price of one.

Dorothy Perkins Black and Red Ruffle Dress ($50)
Wet Seal Peep Toe Bow Bootie ($25)
The Limited Ruffle Clutch ($19)
Top Shop Fabric Bangle ($18)
Jones New York Gold Tone Leverback Drop Earrings ($24)
With just enough left over to bring a bottle of Yellow Tail

Please do NOT embarrass yourself by bringing YellowTail anywhere except the trailer park.
Do yourself a favor and wave your Benjamin in the direction of BevMo or your local wine shop and ask them to recommend something non-embarrassing. Believe it or not, there are great wines to be had and generally the folks in the shops won't make you feel full of shame for asking for recommendations (in fact, they often will enjoy showing off their wine prowess).

Af, please do NOT embarrass yourself by being such an annoying wine snob.
