If you thought robots cleaning your floors was impressive, wait until you see the iRobot ConnectR ($500; 2008). This "Virtual Visiting Robot" lets you connect with friends and family with video and two-way audio. The self-charging ConnectR features a top-mounted, tilt-and-zoom video camera, speaker, microphone and headlight. It can even be controlled remotely with your mouse and keyboard so you can keep an eye on your house while away.
