Consider the Lobster and Other Essays
If you are smarter than us or just looking for a reason to appear totally pretentious in public, you might want to think about getting your hands on David Foster Wallace's Consider the Lobster and Other Essays ($9). We couldn't even make it through three chapters of Infinite Jest, so we'll probably be sitting this one out. But if you're into short essays and long footnotes on sports autobiographies and the vagaries of English usage feel free to give this one a read (and then brief us for the next time we run into Margot, the always-knows-how-to-show-us-up intellectual who seems to bump into us while we're reading The Carrie Diaries).
