Pickett Forbannelse Chair

The Pickett Forbannelse Chair ($1800) looks simple, unassuming and honestly, not that comfortable at first glance, but designer Jeremy Pickett made us not judge a book by its cover. "Straight angles married with rich earthy wood grain" is beautiful, but we have to look inside the piece to see its real appeal. Thanks to complicated Japanese style joinery, use of adhesives, nails or other materials is virtually nonexistant, yet the piece is strong as a tree. Imagine that.
