As much as we dislike Rachael Ray, which is a lot, we do agree that the trash bowl she keeps on her counter during meal preparation is pretty handy. And these people have capitalized on a similar idea. The Scrap Happy ($15) drawer-attachable trash can keeps our counters clear and our compost bin happy. All our inedible vegetable bits and pieces are easily swiped into this silicone bin, making it easy to toss them outside into the garden after the dishes are clean. Rachael Ray may be laughing (annoyingly) all the way to the bank, but we're reaping the benefits of her (most likely unoriginal) idea.

Personally, I prefer the Scrap Trap. It has it's own little double-sided scraper/brush so you don't need a sponge:
