After throwing out two more barely touched plastic containers full of fresh herbs turned rancid, we figured there had to be SOME way to have them keep for more than two days. We consulted the king of food science, Alton Brown, and his tip is to keep our herbs upright and sitting in a little water. A little googling turned up these beauties: the Herb-Saver Pods ($30) at The Spoon Sisters. They keep our herbs upright, fit on our fridge door, and make us look like we're way more adept at cooking than we really are! The best part? Our basil has stayed fresh for a week and a half already!
