We hate the ironing board. Somehow the prospect of pulling it out of the closet and unfolding it feels like an effort equivalent to climbing a mountain or discovering cold fusion. We'd rather just look like we slept in our clothes. This Quilted Ironing Mat ($15), however, is a breeze. It magnetically adheres to the top of the washer or dryer, then rolls up for easy storage. It's so easy to use, we might actually be motivated to - you know - iron stuff every once in a while.

I confess, I purposely only buy non-iron clothes so I never ever have to iron. But occasionally, I do whip out my straightening iron for cuffs and collars and hemlines - yep, a hair straightening iron works wonders in a pinch.
