Picking up a pair of truly luxurious sheets is well worth the money. Higher thread count sheets are softer, sturdier, and far more luscious than the standard cotton issue. Look for a thread count of 400 or higher in pima or Egyptian cotton. The Essential Sheet Collection by Donna Karan ($200 for a queen set) will make getting out of a bed an astounding challenge, but staying in it will be a tremendous treat. The only downside is that after you've tucked yourself in to a pair of ultra-rich sheets sleeping on inferior bedding will be like sandwiching yourself between two giant pieces of sandpaper.
