Get this: these Potato Parchment Bowls ($28-$54) are made from real purple potatoes. We know! We had to look at them several times to see how it was accomplished. The potatoes are sliced by the artist Margaret Dorfman, cured, pressed and aged for several days. Dorfman then cuts the edges to the specifications of the eventual owner. While we realize that we can use them to display potpourri, soap, or whatever else strikes our fancy, we're thinking that they're lovely enough to stand on their own.
