The golden sand in the Meltiar Hourglass ($36) isn't, you know, really gold. Nor does turning the hourglass actually give us an accurate idea of what time it is. But we don't mind on either account, because it's damn gorgeous and will bring a bit of glamour to our otherwise ordinary nightstand.
