Yves Saint Laurent Belle D'Opium Eau de Parfum
We'll get this out of the way first: no, the new Belle D'Opium ($49-$89) doesn't have the strength of character of the original 1977 Opium. What could? If you love that scent, stay with it. But if you admire the old Opium (and the gorgeous, if not entirely SFW ad featuring Sophie Dahl) without being able to actually wear it, you owe it to yourself to give this little sister a try. The incense/white floral combo is still solid, and it's definitely still an oriental, but it eases you in much more gently. The one thing we're not sure about is why there's a Twizzler in the middle of the bottle.
(Actually, hold that thought. If the Twizzler aspect makes it more likely that we'll receive this as a trick-or-treat, we're all for it.)

Haha, the twizzler is to disquise the spray mechanism. Pretty clever in my opinion. Love how pretty this bottle is. =)
