L'Ombre dans l'Eau
Amazing. Even if you think you don't need another rose perfume, yes, you do need this one. Diptyque's L'Ombre dans l'Eau ($88 for the small bottle, $120 for the big one) is a dark, green, almost oily mixture of rose and blackcurrant leaves, serious without being heavy. It's a very botanical scent, almost twiggy, but also very beautiful - and so evocative of flowering hedges by a shady stream that the name (which translates to "the shadow in the water") is almost unnecessary, as cool as it is. There's also a matching shower gel, which is probably HEAVEN - but we haven't tried it. Let us know if you have!
