The Cape Heartache perfume ($85) by Imaginary Authors smells like heartache might smell if heartache to you means a walk among the Douglas fir trees of the Pacific Northwest on a damp, foggy morning. We're not just pulling this out of thin air - the perfume designer, Josh Meyer, invents intricate backstories for all of his fragrances and packages them with bottles bearing artworks that look like covers of 1920s novellas. In this particular "book", the imaginary author Philip Sava spins a tale of his romance with a young woman from the Nehalem tribe.
