YOU Be the Stylist: What should Trish pair with her vintage gold lace dress?

Sometimes, we get a Personal Shopper request that gets us so intrigued, we find it impossible to narrow down our options. We decided, therefore, that our beloved readers should help, since you're all as fashion-obsessed as we are. Introducing.... YOU Be the Stylist: We're faced with a reader who can't decide what to pair with a piece of clothing they've purchased. Neither can we. We'll let you vote.

Trish wrote: "So I have been on this vintage kick and fell in love with this dress. Upon arrival it was just like I expected -- gorgeous and mod and ... a little short (Short enough that I had to practice how to sit in it without pulling a Lohan, bar stools are out). So I thought you could bestow some tips/tricks and accessories to make this little gem shine without me losing any less sparkle slinking around in this dress. I mean it's a cute enough dress I will stand for the whole party but I'd love a little advice. Best, Trish"

Oooh, cute dress, Trish! We've come up with 4 different looks for the dress, but would definitely recommend a pair of nude boy short underpants like these Commando Seamless Boy Shorts ($28) no matter what you wear, so you don't flash the world on accident. Enjoy, and have a great time at the par-tay!

Although the first set was the best in terms of complementing the style and fabric of the dress, none of the choices were perfect. The first set needed to lose the necklace- too much with the earrings and the dress didn't need it, especially with the high collar. The black set would have been dramatic and interesting, but again, the necklace was too much.

Girl, if you're gonna stand for the whole party, bust out some flats! Your feet will thank you for it. Also, if it's super short, high heels will just make it look shorter.

After all is said and done I'm going to try and pull together set 1, love the pink heels! Thanks for the great suggestions! ::trish
