Susan writes: I want a new bag. Ideally, I'm looking for something crossbody in black leather. I want to be able to use this bag everyday, so while I love bold colors and prints, I want to make sure it'll match any outfit. It must have a zipper closure, although if it has external pockets, those don't need to zip. It needs to be big enough to carry a book in, as I have an hour commute and I always read on the train. Here's the tricky part. I have several crossbody bags that I love, but they've become annoying to me because they're vertical instead of horizontal which makes it more difficult to get larger books out of. So if you were to think of the bag as a picture, it'd be in landscape mode. not portrait. I know, a silly way to describe it, but it seems to work when I'm explaining it to shop clerks. A long time ago, you guys featured a Vince Camuto bag that is similar to what I'm looking for, but it doesn't zip! Please help!
That was in no way a silly way to describe how you want your bag. In fact, it was very helpful. Staying away from middle school messenger bags, here are six options that fit the bill. That BCBG Bag (#1) is a beauty; this one picture doesn't do it justice so go check out that page. And if you are reading books all the time, go get yourself a Kindle, girl. I just bought one for my husband's birthday and I'm 75% certain it won't be getting wrapped (it's already in my bag). Happy commuting! -Magzilla
