Personal Shopper: Stylish items for Claire to pack for her Paris trip

Claire writes: "Hi, I'm planning on going to Paris in January, and I was hoping I could get some advice regarding what would be good, warm and fashionable attire to wear. I was hoping to find good black pants, a pair of dark jeans, and some sweaters/accessories that would travel well. In addition, I'm taking in a show at Moulin Rouge and would like to find an elegant and unique dress to wear. I wear a 6-8 in dress size, and would like to keep the total budget around $300 or so, but with some flexibility. I'm pretty short, so I tend to stay away from leggings and tunics. Thanks for your help! Claire"

Dearest Claire! Carlota here. Sounds like you have a fabulous trip planned. I chose one pair of fabulous black pants for you from Gap; fit is awesome and look great with heels as well as flats. The Gap dark denim jeans are a no-brainer. I also chose 8 sweaters and tops for you to pair with the pants. And as for your Moulin Rouge dress, I chose 3 different style dresses (all of which I love). Hope you like my picks! XOXO

luxury-shopping-bags.jpgCarlota here: I'm a true girly-girl. I love strapless dresses, skinny jeans, basic ribbed tanks, lace intimates, patent peep-toes, jeweled sandals, buttery-soft leather satchels, sparkly pendants....you get the point! I also love to save cash when I can, so consider me your personal concierge when you're looking for luxury-for-less. I also have a crazy husband, two little munchkins (Carlo and Milly) and a furry yellow Lab. All of them are sweet and lovable, but they certainly do occupy a good portion of my day. However I do L-O-V-E shopping with a passion and finding amazing deals for myself as well as others.

Hi Claire

I used to live in Paris and was there last January. It can be surprisingly cooooold. Bring some warm clothing and waterproof boots for the slush/snow. Hopefully you'll be there for the winter sales...they are amazing! Have fun!

The free walking tour of Paris was absolutely amazing! We had Onno as our guide by privatetoursinistanbul, he was knowledgeable about the history, answered all our questions and had a real passion for his job. We are a couple in our early 20s and this was probably our best day in Paris. We got a great back story on all the monuments and it just made seeing them in depth the next day so much more interesting. Its a free tour, Onno worked very hard and we were very pleased with how great it was. Well worth our time. He even ended it at a great authentic French restaurant, that was a great deal and so tastey. We loved it so much, that we did the Montmartre the next night. We got Onno again! Go at night!! He will show you an amazing view of the Sacre Coeur that tourist never see! So amazing and a nice glass of wine at the end. Onno even made sure everyone knew where they were headed at the end of the night, and gave us great directions to the airport for early flight the next day www.privatetoursinistanbul.com Thank you so much that provide this service to us,made our trip really great.
