I am a high school teacher and teach foods and life skills classes (housing, interior design, clothing construction, child development and parenting, foods and nutrition, personal finance). I am living on a lowly teacher's paycheck and am in desperate need of inexpensive, cute, cozy things to make my sterile classroom more inviting and livable. I'd really like a cozy place for kids to sit if they are the student of the day. Please please help me!"
Julia, thrift stores, crafts stores, and IKEA will be your best friends. Snag a ton of fun posters and funky colorful frames (spray paint them if you want) to hang up, and a bunch of colorful throw pillows and lengths of fabric. Drape the fabric from the ceiling, and use the pillows to decorate the "student of the day" chair - we've picked out five fun chairs, all $100 or less. Enjoy, and have a fabulous school year!
1 - Oscar Chair ($44, in 3 colors)
2 - New Pacific Side Chair ($100)
3 - Espresso Director Chairs ($20+)
4 - Fatboy Point Ottoman Chairs ($89, in 12 colors)
5 - Unique Contemporary Solutions Oval Papasan Chair ($120 on sale, in 2 colors)
