Personal Shopper: Sarah Beth Honks for Vegan (Business Wear)

Sarah Beth writes: Have I got a doozy for you: I'm 33 and stuck dressing like a child. It's all jeans and t-shirts all the time. Admittedly, I have nice jeans, and the Ts are AA, but still. I try to dress more ladylike/adult and it usually lasts for about a day. So I need outfits that can be pulled together quickly and easily. I want something comfortable, but classic. I work full-time in a (very relaxed) office, but I'm also starting business school classes and as they say, dress for the job you want. I think I have plenty of pants/jeans and shoes (kind of a shoe-aholic), so I'm pretty set there. So, here are the catches. 1. I'm vegan. So no silk, wool, leather, etc. No animals! 2. I'm poor. I'm a state employee and we haven't had raises in almost 5 years. Stupid recession. So what I'm looking for are cute tops (long-sleeve, short-sleeve, button-down, sweaters, etc.), a few classic skirts, and a couple more work-appropriate dresses (wrap dresses?). My dress tastes tend to run toward the formal, which I hardly ever have a chance to wear. I'm a size 8ish or Medium usually, shoe size 8.5 or 9 (in case you find something really darling). My problem areas are my stomach and hips so nothing too clingy in that area, though I don't like peasant or empire waist things because those just make me look pregnant. I need some really classic mix and match pieces so I can look great whatever the day or occasion. I'm open to colors, not a big fan of patterns, and really would like to keep everything under $300 if possible. Can you do it? Can you help? Love you love you love you

Well, Sarah Beth, we love you love you love you too! A few of us pulled together on this one. Found of You picked out some tops, Robin found some awesome shoes and Magzilla (that's me) was responsible for the rest. We're hoping we followed all the guidelines for your vegan restrictions. It didn't seem too too hard but I know I was afraid of getting something wrong. So if we did foul something up, we promise to sacrifice some lentils in repentance. Thanks for teaching us a thing or two about another side of eco-conscious fashion!

Mustard + navy is the best combo. That's an eye-pleasing image y'all put together. :)

too bad the boots and flats aren't in my size. I've already bought dress #1 and a similar purse!

These are so cute! They're already out of my size in all the colours but the pencil dress is super cute.

Side-note -- It's really really REALLY nice to have a little break from the all-animal-skin-all-the-time shoes and purses listings on Outblush. Thanks to Sarah Beth for the request and to 1, 2, 3 personal shoppers for responding to it! :-)
