Katy writes: "Outblush friends! I ask you this important question... to return or not to return? I bought these (awesome) reddish orange corduroy skinny pants from Banana Republic to wear casually and to work (I work in children's media so fun and color are encouraged ;). I loved them in the store and they're comfortable and I was confident that I could find enough fun stuff to wear with them this fall and winter. But then I took them home and my dear husband, and only nearby fashion consultant, thought they looked like vintage rock star pants. Huh? They do? So I'm looking to you to help me find some tops/shoes to make these pants work! I like simple looks and cozy Anthropologie-inspired outfits, and I'm about 5' 8", blond, fair-skinned, and not a rock star. Thank you so much. PS You guys are the best."
Tyler writes: "Hey there! Holidays have arrived and I purchased these killer flame-orange straight legged pants and necklace with the same flame-orange and pearls on it from JCREW. Problem is... I don't know what to wear for shoes and shirt. Should I go with a basic 'T' or something a little more sophisticated or romantic? Something patterned perhaps? I'm open to suggestions for blouses/shirts and shoes. I'm a size 6 in pants (so not stick skinny) and have a small bust. Help a sista out? Happy Holidays! T"
Hello ladies, I am Found of You and I love orange. My house is painted grey and orange. My wedding colors were orange and orange. The flowers were orange and my shoes were orange and my groom's tie was orange. My engagement ring is an orange sapphire. I did not have bridesmaids, because I am not an evil sadist. Here are some good rules for wearing orange pants safely, at least in my orange-loving world: 1) Do not wear an entirely orange and solid black outfit. You will look like a Jack-o-Lantern. 2) Pair orange with neutrals, like grey, shades of white, and certain carefully selected shades of blue. Patterns are good as long as they don't get into a shouting match with your orange pants. 3) Shoes shouldn't be too gigantic or flashy. Flats are good, and they could have special touches like studs or animal print. 4) Once you get comfortable with your orange pants, you can start experimenting with throwing some color into the mix. I love pink, purple, and sometimes green with orange.
For funsies, let's all leave our favorite outfit combos in the comments, shall we? Mine are 10, 11, & 15, and 2, 9, & 14 with either pair of orange pants.
