Pia writes, "Hello Outblush!! Hoping that you can help me! I am looking for a bridesmaid dress for my sister in law's wedding at the end of April with the following criteria from the bride:
Color: Blush (I prefer a pinky or peachy blush color as opposed to nude since I'm blond and quite pale)
Length: Knee or Tea length
Sleeves: Not long (can be short, sleeveless, one shoulder, etc.)
Now, here's the real twist...I'm about 3 months pregnant now and therefore will be almost 6 months pregnant at the wedding. (YIKES!) Since I am constantly growing, I'm having a hard time finding a dress, particularly since I won't know how big I am until the week before (if that)! Therefore, I'm trying to find a dress that would provide room to grow in the next couple of months.
My taste ranges from ethereal, bohemian, to modern so I would try almost anything, but would like to stay away from boring options just because I'm pregnant. I tend to gravitate toward dresses with an interesting cut, or fabric and would like to do so for this dress, particularly given my big belly and the neutral shade of blush. THANK YOU!!"
Congratulations, Pia! Trust me, you'll look darling when you don your bridesmaid dress, no matter what the style. If anything can outshine the bride, it's a mama-to-be (but shhh, don't tell your future sister-in-law I said that!). I stuck with dresses that have straps or short sleeves to give you a bit of support on top. A few of the dresses are not marketed as maternity wear, but their cuts and fabrics should accommodate a growing belly.
