Personal Shopper: Liz's ultimate grey bedding

Liz writes, "Outblush, I am begging for your help to find my dream bedding. The Eileen Fisher Seasonless Silk Comforter in Pewter was my dream - but the price is out of range ($498 for the comforter alone, and pewter is long gone. I'd rather spend that on the entire bed - or around $300 not counting sheets). I like white/off white, gray/charcoal/gunmetal, black/white if it isn't too distracting/busy ... cooler neutrals. I want something simple, but with an elegant detail like tufting - that still doesn't look fussy. (The dream comforter to me is effortlessly elegant.) It doesn't have to be silk, I actually want something I can care for at home. I want my queen bed to look like a bed fit for a queen, the kind a girl can't wait to flop down on after a long day. PS - I have down allergies, so if it isn't a coverlet/comforter cover/etc - avoiding true down is necessary. The dream (Third color is pewter.). Too warm but shows the bedding more (off white is fine, but a yellowy ivory that goes with brown just isn't what I want). If it matters, I do have a whole room vision happening already. It involves crystal lamp bases (well, the look), a cozy rug, a pretty vanity, soft lighting, mirror and silver and white/off white details, clean lines but cozy textures - a bit of old Hollywood, a bit of upscale hotel chic, etc. - but on a single girl moving out on her own budget. Color wise, I'm leaning in the dusky lavender and gray area. (I figure neutral bedding is best, I can trade sheets to go from lavender to pale aqua to eggplant - whatever works as the room comes together.) Thanks, Outblush! I am a faithful reader, and I know if anyone can help me track down the perfect bedding, it's your staff."

*dies* This was the pickiest request ever, I am so sorry - but it means so much to me that you helped! I LOVE a few of these, now I just have to pick. :) It's been such a pain finding the right bedding, THANK YOU for the help! Now I can go from a crummy college bed to something better suited for a real adult. ;)

Hey, this suggestion is late and might not be up your alley, but I thought I'd suggest it. I'm one of the male readers of Outblush. Ended up here from UnCrate a long time ago and like to check it from time to time - gives me great ideas for things to give my girlfriend :p. Anyways, check out the Hotel collection Frame bedding set. It might be too masculine for your tastes, but it's the nicest grey set I've found to date.

You're welcome, Liz! Glad you like the choices, and welcome to adulthood! :) (I remember being BEYOND excited buying my first set of queen sized bedding, as opposed to twin!)
