Personal Shopper: Leather Pants for Angela

Angela wrote, "I desperately want to own a pair of super sexy black (or dark red) leather or pleather pants. Preferably a boot cut or flare -- nothing too skinny/narrow at the ankle. Any ideas?"

No! No no no...DOUBTBLUSH. I get that someone needs help...but this is just bad taste.

I guess one bad post among dozens of great ones is ok.

Agreed with Natasha! Ew!

So Natasha and Elle...what didn't you like about the post? Your comments didn't really say.

Kudos to Angela for being confident enough to pull off super sexy leather pants! I think they're hot and you'll probably look like a rockstar. :-)

I don't know about Natasha and Elle, but I Doubtblush this just for the fact that it's leather pants. All of those remind me of something you might see paired with some color blocked belly-button bearing top and platform sandals in a late 90s or early 00s teen movie.

It's leather pants, not even leather leggings. Leather flared pants. If someone were to ask me how to style a pair of those, I'd say...you don't. Unless you are going to a costume party. You just don't. I would suggest a sexy yet modern & fashionable alternative, leather leggings (pleather leggings). Even though those are hard to pull off as well, but a big improvement from leather bell bottoms.

I guess I'll have to bow out of the conversation...this just took a turn for the "Whaaa?!" Why anyone would want leather leggings, I have no clue.

I WILL say that you can see by Angela's request that she wants leather pants with a flare at the ankle. Or at least not skinny at the ankle. So we gave her what she wanted, regardless of our own thoughts on leather anything. And I have no doubt that she'll rock them like nobody's business.

leather pants and leather leggings both rock! I think they can be a unique. Obviously cut matters and how you wear them so that you don't look like you're raving like it's 1999.

Though just looking at these is making my thighs sweat. I suppose good for winter...?

I meant "ew" to leather pants generally. I think they're acceptable only as a costume. (In the interest of full disclosure, I wore pleather pants a couple of years ago on Halloween.)
That said, I think Outblush did a good job finding pants that met her request. I just think the request is in questionable taste, and I'd want someone to let me know they thought that before spending $100+ on an article of clothing.

Leather leggings? Really now? That's the solution?

I thought these looked pretty cool. Not a look I would rock myself (as Lord knows I can barely pull this ass of mine into stretchy jeans these days), but if that's what the requester wanted, who cares?

The cuts of these pants all look fairly flattering to me. Some shiny pleather leggings sound horrifying to me.

Obviously there are some closed-minded individuals reading this blog. Sure, you can copy everything you see out of a magazine and play it safe, or you can go out and create a look of your own. I'll take the creative woman over the copy-cat any day! I know you'll look hot, Angela.

Outblush isn't posting my comments for some reason. Weird. Because I have an opinion?

And by the way, Outblush themselves posted about leather leggings here: http://www.outblush.com/women/fashion/pants-shorts/apart-leather-london-leggings/

I wasn't going to respond, but Natasha, I think you've got us wrong on both points. We haven't deleted any of your comments; please don't insinuate that we're censoring you. (I sent you an email, btw.)

Also, the whole point of that leggings post was to say that there's only leather on the KNEES, not all over.

Having said that, is something making you grouchy? Where's the normal funny Natasha that we know and love? If you're feeling like you need a hug, I'll send a big warm one through the intertubes.

Natasha tried to respond to my last comment, but somehow our admin isn't letting her comment go through. SweartoGAWD it's not me being a censor/hater.

Natasha says, "Perhaps it was an internal/back-end issue with the comment getting deleted/lost. Not a big deal. Appreciate the email :)

But if you need convincing that pleather/leather leggings are actually quite trendy and a much sexier alternative to leather boot cut pants...check it out:

Thanks, Natasha! Love ya right back! :D

Oh, and those leggings are pretty cute, Natasha. I just don't know if I could bring myself to do it.
