Jen writes: I have a strange and (hopefully) interesting personal shopper request to give you a little break from fashion. My husband and I are about to close on our first house, and we are ecstatic to start flexing our decorating muscles. The house is adorable on the inside, but the outside is craving some landscaping and personality. We won't beg you to put in sweat equity, but we need help finding an interesting piece of outdoor artwork to put in the triangular space above the entryway (a pediment, google has led me to believe). Traditionally, people put an iron eagle here, but that's not quite our style. We've been looking for possibilities like a pineapple, dove, or a tree, but have had no luck! The triangle is about 7 feet wide and 1 foot tall at its peak. I've included a picture to help you visualize this strange space I'm talking about. Ideally, we'd like to stay under $300, but could go up to $500 for the right piece. I know you web wizards will be able to conquer this challenge!
Weirdest. Request. Ever. Try Googling "pediment art". Unless you want to decorate the front of your house in antique prints of pediment sculptures, there ain't a whole lot out there. Now try Googling "over the door wall decor" and you start cooking. The picture you sent shows your pediment being WAY taller than 1' at it's peak so I took liberties with the size of your over the door wall decor suggestions. Fearing that I did not in fact deliver, I also included a pineapple door knocker. Have fun making that house a home! -Magzilla
