Personal Shopper: Help us help you!

Clearly, you're all quite enamored of our Personal Shopper feature, since we get (no joke) a metric ton of requests each week. And since there are only so many of us editors, and only so much time in a day, and only so much - okay, you get the idea. We're a bit overloaded.

So, in order to simplify the process, we wanna be up front with you, the potential Personal Shopper recipient, about what we need from you to make our work easier.

Ergo, from now on, Personal Shopper requests which answer the following questions will be given priority over those that don't:

1. What size (shoe or dress) are you?
2. What is your maximum budget?
3. If this is for a wedding or event (i.e. a party, a birthday), when IS the event?
4. If this is for a gift for a person, please tell us two things they like, and conversely, two things they DON'T like.
5. What are you looking for? Give us specifics!!!
6. Please tell us if there's something you really don't like.
Please be advised that with the current backlog of Personal Shopper requests, if your email is chosen by one of our editors, it will be between 3 and 4 weeks before it is posted live to Outblush. We will make every effort to help you out with last-minute requests, but please do try to give us as much advance notice as possible.

Wanna submit your Personal Shopper plea? Check out our editorial bios to see if we're experts in your particular field of inquiry, then click here to email us!

Hello! I have a rather large foot (10-11) and was wondering if you could help me find some cute and classy rainboots. It's hard enough finding regular shoes up to my standard that trying to find boots have been a nightmare! Here's what I'm looking for:
-under $100
-solid color, preferably black, gray or brown
-cute heel/wedge
-something I would be comfortable wearing all day with business casual outfits

Can you help? I would SO appreciate it!

Hi! I really appreciate your help on this one. My best friend is getting married in September and we are on the hunt for bridesmaid dresses. We are all size 2 to 6 and are willing to spend up to $400 for something really special. We are looking for a halter top dress with a low back that is lavender colored with some plum/deep purple colored accents. We have all vetoed strapless dresses, which has made it hard to find something. We would also prefer short to medium length over long. I know if there is anyone that can find this dress it is you! Thank you so much!

Hey there! My best friend is planning a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" inspired wedding for June, and has hit a snag. This may be a bit different from your usual requests, as it is for the groom. The groomsmen are wearing plain black bow ties, so the groom wants to be different. We have been searching the planet for a Tiffany blue bow tie with a pattern on it, to no avail. She doesn't care what the pattern is, they just don't want it to be plain like the groomsmen's ties. This has been difficult because either the blue isn't quite right, or the tie is just plain. Hopefully this is specific enough, and that you're much better detectives than we are. Price doesn't matter so much...we live in the South, he'll definitely wear the bow tie again. Thank you so much!!!

Hi! I have a "find this outfit" dilemma. I recently stumbled upon this picture of Blair (leighton Meester) from Gossip Girl and I absolutely fell in love with her outfit! I was wondering if you could help me find the actual pieces in the outfit, and if not maybe some alternatives that look similar? I would probably be wiling to go up to 300-400 dollars for a whole outfit! Thank you so much!! The picture is here:http://questionlove.tumblr.com/post/3359149400

Hey there! I have a "find this piece" request. I recently received the Spring 2011 Vera Bradley Catalog in the mail, and I absolutely fell in love with the yellow skirt the model on the cover was wearing! I was wondering if you could help me find some choices that come very close to the actual one? I'm going on vacation in the next few weeks and the sunny color and flouncy style would be perfect for the Florida sunshine! Thank you so much! Here is a reference point, as I couldn't pull up an actual single picture:http://www.verabradley.com/catalog/shop_catalogs_layer.jsp?catalog=Spring11 (pages 18-19)

Hello! I have a formal event to attend Memorial Day Weekend and I am already planning my outfit. I would really love if I could accessorize my look with a hat, very similar to the ones Kate Middleton is known for sporting – but I can’t find any, anywhere! If you could help, it would be appreciated. Any colors, styles and shapes are welcomed, but they need to be classy/trendy (no Lady Gaga, please!).

Hi! I have been invited to a roaring 20's party and am at a loss trying to find a dress that won't make me look ridiculous! I am 5'7 and about a size 10, but my issue is my chest is a 36 DD and with a flapper style dress I look as though I am dressed in a fringy tent. Please help!!! Any ideas would be appreciated! I can spend around $100, and need it by the beginning of May. I look better in darker colors, and I try not to wear prints, as they make my chest look even bigger. Thanks so much! Donna

Hi! I am a university student and will be studying abroad this summer in Russia. I want to update my wardrobe a bit to fit into what Russian girls in their early 20s wear. I am looking for both casual and semi formal outfits that I could wear to the Russian Law Acadamy, where I will be studying! I am a size 2-4 and 5'4". Being a college student, my price range would be between $100-200 for a few new outfits or stylish addition to my closet.

спасибо! (spasibo)Thanks in Russian!

Dear Ladies,
I recently snapped up a great deal on an Anna Sui silk dress (here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/redreplicant/5551980984/) and I am completely stumped as to what kind of jewelry to wear with it. I like interesting jewelry-- I'm a big fan of Etsy-- but I haven't been able to find the right piece under $50.

love the post!
I have bit of a challenge for you! I am throwing my really good friends a non traditional wedding shower. It will be more like a fun party since they are going to have a really small wedding out of town that only my boyfriend and I will go to. All the guest will be really good friends. I want to put together an awesome gift basket for them (separate ones or one together) with a max. budget of $600.
HE is a massage therapist and so is she as well as an esthetcian, nail tech and hair stylist. They are very fun, humorous and in their early 30's. They love giving each other massages, enjoy a good glass of red wine and appreciate good food. She also has a 5 year old daughter. I could also use some inspiration for invitations, party games etc. I really want to make this special for them.
Thank you so much!

I don't know about you guys but I'm starting to get spring fever. I can't wait to start wearing wedges and find myself searching for them online almost daily. I found this pair http://www.endless.com/Cole-Haan-Air-Delfina-Espadrille/dp/B003YUDG6I/ref=sr_1_3/?cAsin=B003YUF6A2&fromPage=search&qid=1301705923257&sr=1-3&asins=B004D26GHW,B004FDY8BA,B003YUF6A2,B00469UWLS,B0043EF86K,B004CYO29U,B004CQM1AU,B004BXAXLS&asinTitle=Cole%20Haan%20Air%20Delfina%20Espadrille&contextTitle=search%20results&page=1&size=100&node=242283011&nodes=242283011&sort=relevance-fs-browse-rank&promokeywords=P1NAHHE9HKK6Q6YLP&colors=519113011|519118011 pair that I can't stop looking at but I don't want to spend more than $75. Do you think you could help me find a pair of cute wedges size 7.5 preferably in a nude color like these?

Greetings Outblush Staff! I hope you can help me locate what I am looking for. I have been tireless searching for a look alike dress that Charlotte Riley wore to the Ladies Day at Glorious Goodwood, at the Goodwood Racecourse on July 29, 2010 (http://www.google.com/images?q=charlotte%20riley%20glorious%20goodwood&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1008&bih=542). I love the length, color, style, material, everything about it! Most importantly I feel it would be very appropriate for my graduation from veterinary school this coming May 2011. I am a size 4, about 5'5" in height, and am not looking to spend over $200-300. I have not had any luck finding a similar dress, and hope that you can help me!! Thanks so much!

Hey Outblush! A coworker of mine got me interested in your blog, and I am now hooked! I was hoping you could help me with something. I love maxi dresses, and they look so comfy, but I am 5'10" and have a really hard time finding one that fits me and is long enough to almost touch the floor. They all look like I am waiting for a flood! :) I am a Size 10 and I am hoping to find something very inexpensive (as I am in Grad School and don't have a lot of extra money to spare). If you could help, that would be amazing!! Thanks in Advance!! Sara

Hey Outblush! You ladies are so awesome at finding amazing stuff so I was hoping you could help me out! I am starting business school in the fall and I need to find the perfect tote to carry my books/laptop. I want something that is classy and stylish, but also functional and sturdy. I prefer black, LOVE pebbled leather, and only want to spend somewhere in the range of $150-$400. One bag I was considering for a while was the Kate Spade Tarrytown Magazine tote...but unfortunately I did not snatch it up quick enough and I can't find it anywhere!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey Outblush! My best friend got me hooked on your site a few months ago and now I can't stop checking it! I have a little dilemma of my own that I could use your help with! I will be 22 at the end of May, and as this is the first birthday that ALL of close friends will be over 21, we are going out! I am looking for a dress that will turn heads when we walk in, but in a good way! I am a size 16-18 with a 38-40D. I love dresses that hit above the knee, but nothing tight! I like to accentuate my cleavage, so something with a v-neck or something a little low cut is good! Because of my chest size, I have to be able to wear a bra or have one built into the dress! My favorite color is teal but I also love anything bright or printed(especially zebra print!). I don't want anything long or too dark in color, although a little black is just fine! I need to be able to dance and have fun all night, so nothing too fancy or that requires constant adjusting please! I am a student so please nothing over $100. I am sure you guys can find me an amazing dress that will make me look amazing! Thank you so much!

Shelly :)

I have been looking high and low for a pair of closed-toes platform slip-ons for work, something similar to L.K. Bennett Greta Wedges. I went to their official website, but the shopping cost to Canada (before custom takes another chunk of money from my wallet) is way too steep for me.

I am a 7.5W and hoping to find something fun but not too ridiculous (over 3 inches, strappy and crazy prints maybe a bit much for my on-the-conservative-side office). In terms of budget, anything under $200 is definitely a bonus; as long as the shipping cost is not astronomical, it is all good.

Much love and thank you!

Hello, you wonderful shoppers, you!! So, today was my first "Mother's Day" (I'm 25 weeks pregnant) and my husband spoiled me rotten!! I got a Philosophy gift set, an orchid, a lullaby cd for our little girl, fresh bagels for breakfast, etc. That being said, I want his first father's day to be just as special. I know you'll get a slew of these requests, but I figured I'd throw mine in too. I'd like to keep the total under $75. He likes video games and cool apps for his iPad. He enjoys reading, (his most recent was Oryx and Crake, just for an idea of style). He is currently trying to take his wardrobe from college to professional now that he's a CPA, so maybe some hip cufflinks or a wallet. He also fancies himself a beer connoisseur. He loves everything from your brother site, Uncrate, but we can't afford a lot of that stuff now that we're saving for baby. Whether you take my request or not, keep up the great work!! Thank you!

Hi Outblush,

Love, love, love this site!

I'll be feeling the groove and celebrating the cosmic union of two dear friends. They're throwing a 70's theme wedding party at the end of July. The groom's ready to boogie down in his blue lapel suit. I need some help finding some 70's theme threads. A 70's dress and some accessories. I'm 27, 5'2", size 6 dress size, under $200. Can you dig it?

Thanks!

Hi there Outblush! I've been a loyal reader for almost half a decade, and I love what you guys keep on churning out. Keep it up!

My request is this: I'm going to travel around Hong Kong and mainland China for three weeks, and I'm stuck on the most important part of my wardrobe: the shoes. The women there always dress up for even the most mundane activities, such as taking a stroll to the market or even hiking up a mountainside (yes I once saw a lady wearing lace-up, knee-length high heel boots climbing up). Can you help me find a pair of comfortable yet fashionable shoes to wear in 90 degree, high humidity weather without looking too American touristy? Also, since I am vertically challenged, a small wedge heel would be great!

I wear a size 4.5-6 shoe depending on the brand.

Thanks a lot, Outblush!

Maggie

Hi Outblush!

I'm looking for bridesmaids dresses for my wedding, which will be in Summer 2012. The wedding will be fairly casual, and will take place at an old church and farmhouse in Maine.

I love this Lela Rose dress, but it's well over my $150 budget: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/lelarose/lr101/?color=royal&colorid=997

My two bridesmaids are my sister (26, size 6) and future sister-in-law (17, size 0-2). My wedding colors are royal blue, spring green and ivory, and I'd like the dresses to be royal blue. They should be knee-length. They should also NOT be satin and NOT be strapless. I would like, however, if they had thin or spaghetti straps, so as not to overwhelm my slender bridesmaids. Finally, it would also be great if the dresses were carried in-store somewhere in New York or New Jersey, so that my girls can try them on!

Hopefully you can help! Thanks!

This may not be the most conventional place to ask this, but I need apartment furniture help. My husband and I share a -800sq.ft. apartment with our toddler and incubating baby. We have a crap ton of stuff that has carried over from our 1200sq.ft. apartment. Needless to say, nothing fits. Our coffee table is HUGE, our couch is the wrong color (think mauve but worse), our dining room table sits six but we are two people with high chairs. For the love of god, please find us some budget friendly furniture that will fit in our new space. I'm ready to burn this mother down.

Dear Outblush Wizardesses,

You helped me out once before with decor for my one-year-old son's room, and I ever so much appreciated your advice. I've been restraining myself for a year from asking you more questions ("I need a bag! I need bar stools! I need help!"), but now I'm desperate.

I have to attend a 1920's-themed party, and am at quite a loss at where to look for a dress. I'd like to buy a dress that I can keep wearing, and not a costume-like one. I understand that the look is made by accessories as well - so any suggestions for shoes, headwear, or jewelry will be greatly appreciated. As a reference point, I love the look of Marillon Cotillard in Midnight in Paris, and would love to recreate that theme.

I am 5'7", dress size 6, shoe size 7.5. I would like to stay under $100 for all, but for highly useful, re-wearable stuff, will go up to $200. The party is in a couple of weeks. It will be on a hot NY rooftop during the day, so comfort is of the essence! I would not want anything heavy or dark.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!

1. What size (shoe or dress) are you? Dress size 10-12 shoe 8.5-9 shirt L jeans 13-15 I am 21, and 5'6.
2. What is your maximum budget? $60 per item
5. What are you looking for? Give us specifics!!! I am looking for something to wear with my Kate Spade necklace and bracelet set hot to trot. I absolutely love the color yellow, and it doesn't look awful on me at all :). I am looking for just something super amazing that i will look good in. I want the world to think I am pretty!
http://www.katespade.com/designer-jewelry/necklaces-for-women/hot-to-trot-long-necklace-1/WBRU2871,default,pd.html

6. Please tell us if there's something you really don't like. I hate things that accentuate my stomach, I know i need to lose weight but i don't need everyone else to know. I cant do to short of a skirt with out the possibility of wearing leggings because I have a big butt. And nothing to skin tight because it is not a pretty site!

Thanks so much ladies!

Hey Outblush!

I'm going to be going into my freshmen year of college in September and I need help finding a new backpack!

Nothing toooo pricy (ie. under $200), but I wanted something a bit unique. I love the boho look, and the style of the backpacks they have at Coach which you can buy but they are too small because keep in mind I will be carrying a 15'' laptop, notebooks and possibly textbooks!

Thank you!!

Dear OB,
Please help! I have my first black-tie wedding at the end of October, and I have no idea what to wear! I love autumn colors, and would like something to make my green eyes POP. I need a (long?) dress, with fancy embellishments and/or a jewelry combo that will be formal enough for this occasion. Here's my problem...I'm SHORT (5'1" on a good day), athletic build, and I absolutely will not wear a strapless gown (I've nursed two kids), and fancying up a gown from the Junior's section isn't going to cut it. My husband is away, so I am on my own with my job and two kids, so I don't have time to do much shopping around. I will spend up to $3000 for the whole ensemble (I'm talking jewelry, which I have some--and I have a good shoe collection, hair (I will need a great cocktail look), nails, dress, bag, and alterations). This request is more about time than money, I guess. We are some of the bride and groom's older friends--but I don't want to be dressed like their parents!

Ideal situation: gorgeous long dress in green, or burnt orange (too pumpkin-y?)--must be ballroom danceable, and preferably does not do that weird crinkle when you sit. No empire waist style, I've had it with clothes that make me look pregnant. Something that makes my stubby waist look longer would be a huge plus. Gold (or gold-tone) jewelry. The event is October 23rd. My dress size is 4-6, shoe size 7, bust is 34C.

THANK YOU!

Margaret

Hello! I am looking for some boots for fall & winter to wear to work and for weekend play (shopping days, nights out, etc). I have wide calves, so I've had a hard time finding something I love at a reasonable price. The calf opening needs to be over 15". I am a size 7 shoe. Ideally, the boots would be brown leather or suede with a low heel. My office is not super strict or fancy, but I like to look put together and classy. I would wear these boots with skirts and dresses and tights.

Thank you!!

Hi Outblush!
Your site is incredible! My BFF and I read it daily and love discussing all the things we love on your site.
I love cowboy boots, and found some amazing ones by Frye called Frye Deborah Studded Western Boots. I love both the tall and the short versions, but I don't love the price! Close to $500 for the short, and $700 for the tall.
I am hoping you can help me find something similar, but closer to $150-$200.
Thanks for considering my request!

Hi Outblush! My friend was invited to a black tie event on Dec 3. We're totally stressed about what she should wear! She is a size 2, very light brown hair, somewhat fair skinned. She likes strapless only if it is a sweetheart top and is interested in something floor length, but also any other length (just not too short). I think a blue or purple would look very nice on her. Her budget is about $200, but if it is perfect... I think she would spring for a bit more!

Please help us!

To the Outblush goddesses,
I have spent an inconceivable amount in the past months on pretty things I've found through your site, and if you're willing to help, I'm now ready to drop a little more dough on a wardrobe conundrum I have! I'm headed to Paris in a month and I have no idea how I should dress in such a fashion-forward city! I've been told that jeans are a big no-no, but I live in them! Plus, we'll be walking around all day so I want to be comfortable. Can you help? My budget is about $500 and I wear a size 4 in dresses and pants. Thank you so much!

Hello! I have a hunting question! There is an older music video by the singer "Charlie Mars" on youtube called "Listen to the Dark Side." The video stars Mary-Louise Parker, and in most of the video she wears the most to-die-for leather jacket I've ever seen in my life. Asymmetrical back, off center zipper/buttons, it's just perfect. I want to know where oh where it came from, and, if there was possibly a knock off floating around. Thanks for your help! (I wear between a 4-6).

Hey Outblush! I need help or inspiration! My best friend's birthday is coming up Feb 19th and I want to get her something amazing. I don't see her very often but the last time we saw each other she told me she was depressed. She just came back from vacation and her boyfriend had gambled all their money and had taken advances out on both their credit cards so they were unable to enjoy the rest of their vacay. She hates her job (working at a financial firm) and plans to quit soon. Also the time she spends not at work she is giving "therapy" to her boyfriend's mom who is a cancer survivor and is now going through withdrawal from the pain relievers she was on. My friend is turning 25, she is planning to go back to school in the next year to change her career path. She has a mature look, she likes pearls and dresses professionally for work but she thinks like a guy, she's quick-witted and sex-crazed. She loves eating, she can't cook, she gets bored easily and is not very technology saavy. She normally is not one to complain so the fact that she said she was depressed tells me that what's going on is very serious. I want to get her something amazing but what do you get someone who is depressed? I'd like to spend under $200 but I don't have a clue what to get her.
Thanks I know this is one tall order and am hoping the team will be able to think of something!!

I am willing to spend up to $1250.00 on these shoes but would like to spend under that if possible.

Hi! I am on the hunt for a pair of boots and a cream colored dress to wear with this fur vest: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=32082611

I am looking for a longsleeve or 3/4 sleeve dress. Cream, probably jersey/cotton, but not too thin or sheer.

As far as boots, I love this pair: http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/MIA-Womens-Eelia-Leather-Boots/6338070/product.html?rcmndsrc=2. They are the right color and height, but I don't love all of the buckles. Something brown, knee high. Here's the catch - I need a wide calf (16" or wider).

I don't need any of this by a certain date, all though I am anxious to wear it all together! My budget is around $200 for everything, but I am certainly willing to splurge if the boots and/or dress are great.

Thanks for your help!I can't wait to see what you ladies find!

Hello! My sisters' wedding is in November and her colours are navy blue, yellow and white. Our dresses are long and navy blue, we would love to find yellow shoes that are winter appropriate. (ie. Closed toe) We would need 3 pairs, two 8 and one 9. We would like to keep the cost of the shoes under $50.00 a peice. Also we would like to keep the heel under 2-2.5 inches and flats are also okay. It would be great if they also came in navy blue for the bride but that is not crucial. I hope you can find something!!
Thanks!!

Hi! I am in major need of some help! I have been looking everywhere for the past couple weeks for a jacket and can't find one. It is for a show that I am doing. It needs to be a cropped tuxedo jacket with tail (very vintage broadway) and needs to have functioning buttons in the front. It also has to be long sleeved and under $200 preferably under $150. I have found nothing that works and stumbled across your website looking for help. PLEASE help me! the show is in may and I have to get it approved and ordered soon!

1. Dress Size 0-2
2. Maximum budget - $200
3. The Little White Dress! For my bachlorette party in NYC this upcoming July. I live in NYC and work in fashion, so I am looking for something that is city-chic, suited for summer, unique but still a little pizazz and glitz! I am going for the "WOW she looks sexy" -- not in the trashy way but in the way that girls will look at you for your fashion! (Going for the sex in the city chic look!)
4. Two things I like -- cut-outs, unique shapes
Two things I do not like -- anything that is too covered and looks matronly (this is my last whoo-rah to look single and sexy!)
5. I am looking for a white dress for my bachlorette party, or perhaps a white outfit to wear during the day at our pool party (a bikini pool outfit)
6. I am open to it all!

1. What size (shoe or dress) are you? Shoe size is a 9. Dress size is a large or 8-10. Blouse size is a medium/large, depending.
2. What is your maximum budget? 100ish for the skirt/top, 200 for shoes/necklace
3. If this is for a wedding or event (i.e. a party, a birthday), when IS the event? TEN YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION eeeeeeeekkkkkkkk!!
5. What are you looking for? Give us specifics!!! I just really want to look put together/stylish, cute, but also be comfortable. I would love maybe a maxi skirt (or hi-lo) and top – paired with a statement necklace. I LOVE heels and plan to wear heels that night. I am pretty daring - I don’t mind anything that’s loud or stands out. I am assuming most of my female classmates will be wearing party dresses and be dressed up.
6. Please tell us if there's something you really don't like. I am pretty large up top so I’d like to shy away from anything that has cutouts or is backless. I am able to wear a strapless bra though if needed.
