Personal Shopper: Cute and Comfy Flats for Lisa

Lisa writes: Dear Outblush----Conundrum-----indeed!!!! I had partially successful ankle surgery in August. I'm finally out of the boot but was told by the surgeon that I can not wear heels (gasp!) for the rest of my life. (double gasp!!) Am I destined for a life of Easy Spirits and Birkenstocks for the rest of my life? I need suggestions for flats that are cute and stylish but also supportive and reasonably inexpensive. I'm pretty hard on shoes. I'm a size 8.5 - 9. I like details like buckles but no bows. I like shiny shoes, colored shoes, lace ups, slip ons, and most anything else. I work at a desk job in a very casual office. I wear jeans most days so my shoes are for both work and play. Thanks! Lisa

3 - Cole Haan Air Bandon ($82, in two colors)
4 - Aerosoles Raspberry ($25-$49, in nine colors, I have these in black, red and orange and I get lots of compliments, people love the big button on the side)
5 - Rockport Ashika Loafer ($100, in four colors)
6 - Aerosoles Rebecca ($30-59, in seven colors)
7 - Rockport Faye Ballet ($90, in 12 colors)

As an accessorizing whiz, I can style your "What do I wear with it?!" clothing, dig up awesome maternity and nursing clothes (I'm a Mommy!), and make your tootsies look perfect in fabulous flats (or pumps, or sandals). Oh, and if you need to give someone (ME!!) a gift, I say buy 'em food and books, and I'd love to help you find just the right stuff.

Me, too. Achille's tendon surgery and a bone spur. Wore a boot or cast for a year. YUCK!! Now, I can wear kitten heels very gently...for a little while. But mostly flats. Also, check out J Crew's CeCe flats, they have a little rise inside but they are flat. VERY comfy!

I am in the same boat as y'all and have found that the brands Drew and Wolky are the best for my troubled feet. Drawback of both brands is price----they are really expensive shoes, but are perfect (and stylish!) for my bad feet.
