Personal Shopper: Cover Christina's Blooming Bump for New Year's Eve
Christina writes: Hi Outblush, can you help me? I will be just at 13 weeks pregnant for New Year's Eve. So I am not showing enough to be in maternity clothes, but I no longer have a flat pre-pregnant belly, and generally look all around fluffy. I need to find something to wear to a party (cocktail-ish attire) that doesn't make me look like I am wearing ill-fitting clothes. I would love a shirt-pant combo, but I can do a dress as well. I just don't know how to handle this in-between time! Thanks!!!
Hello, Christina! I, Rachel H., Outblush Operative, have always been the owner of a belly bump, pre, post, and during pregnancy, so I think I can help you. My go-to outfit for hiding any sort of tummy is a long, flowy tank top with a jacket or cardigan. The flowiness hides your tummy, and the layers distract from it. Pick pieces with some sparkle and invest in a good pair of black maternity pants - the panel smoothes everything out and is OH so comfy. (Shhh, I still wear mine, don't tell!!)
