Sherri wrote us: My wedding is coming up quickly (July 30th) & I still don't have shoes to start my dress fitting in a few weeks! I am looking for something open-toe, fun & a little funky to wear, and was initially thinking I would find something in a bold color. Unfortunately, the style gods have decided that neutrals are in style for this spring/summer & my options have been much more limited than I thought they would be. The biggest problem is that I am 5'11" and as much as I love high heels, I need to find something that is either a flat or a low heel (less than 2"- maybe a low wedge?) so that I don't tower over everyone and so that my wedding dress is still long enough. I wear a size 8.5, so the size is not the problem, it's just the underwhelming amount of cute, colorful shoes! I love shoes with floral adornments and am OK with a sandal as long as they're sort of fancy. Some of the cuter open-toe flats that I have found have the elastic banding round the heel, which I don't care for. My wedding colors are black and white & I am wearing an eggplant-colored sash with my dress - so dark purple or bright yellow might be a good option? I am hoping to find the perfect pair of wedding shoes for under $150. I need help!
Phew, Sherri! Robin here, and I agree with you girl, this was a tough one. Seems like if you want colorful, yellow's the way to go right now. I found a few floral-embellished shoes too, but they're not all bright colors. (The Cobbs are my personal favorite!) Hopefully one of these is the right shoe to get you down the aisle in style.
