Megan S. moaned, "I am going to a wedding in july. In charleston. All I think about is hot, humid, ick. But it will be in a beautiful setting and the bride is a bit on the fancy side, so I feel like what I planned on wearing is way to casual. What can I get that will not make me faint or sweat, but feels a bit more on the fancier size. Also! I'm a bit busty and a bit self-conscious about it. So I'm a little bit in the perfect storm of wedding eh. Thanks!"
We've been to the South in summer, and hoo boy, who would wanna get married in that? The bride is gonna be sweating bullets within 10 minutes under her wedding gown. Anyways, on to you, Megan! We'd recommend something with a v-neck and a defined waist to control the girls, and a lightweight, flowy fabric like silk or charmeuse to keep you cool, but still looking formal. The dresses pictured here can probably also be worn with a regular plunge bra, upping the comfort factor.
PS - Our favorite anti-sweat tricks? Deodorant on the inner thighs (and under the boobs), plus a pair of short, light cotton bike shorts underneath the dress - yes, really. No one will know!

One Ring to Rule Them All
I got married in New Orleans in August - outside (yes, with an indoors, A/C portion). And it was fabulous and wonderful, so there!
You KNEW someone was gonna say that, didn't you? You just didn't know it was gonna be me!
One Ring to Rule Them All
Oh yeah, I LOVE the dress selection, btw!

I just had my wedding in Folly Beach, SC - 15 mins from Charleston. My bridesmaids and others had luck at Boston Proper, Victoria Secret, Anthropologie, and BCBG Max Azria. Check out there dresses here: www.dixiepixelphoto.com/blog

Living in the South and having attended far too many summer weddings (why, why?!), I think your picks are pretty spot on...except #3, which seems like a sweatspot cesspool! Silk, eek! I think that given the circumstances a great looking cotton dress will look great too. And kudos for the anti-sweat tricks!

i would absolutely avoid silk! i went to a june wedding in florida last year, and could barely peel my dress away from my skin after ten minutes. i just attended an outdoor wedding in charleston and went with a lightweight cotton - much, much happier choice!

Well, since y'all seem so adamantly opposed to silk (which I happen to love in hot weather, but maybe I'm insane), may I suggest these cute linen and/or cotton shirt dresses? They've got more formal detailing, but the fabric is more in line with what y'all wanted. :)

Is affiliate mrkeating allowed on Blogger? Are we allowed to do affiliate mrkeating on blogger.com?M not too sure about that cos one of terms of agreement seem to say we are not to use it for any commercial purposes. Also Word Press explicitly forbid it.Below is copied from Blogger Terms of service:7.
