Says Brittney: "I know i'm kinda late but my mom's birthday is on April Fools Day. I normally would have a gift for her by now but i feel like i've gottten her every gift on this planet from jewelry to gag gifts. I want something unique but just cant figure out what... any suggestions? please help!"
Hi, Brittney, this is Marian - and wow, you weren't kidding. When it comes to ordering online, you're getting into expensive shipping territory, so the following list includes some things you might be able to find in brick-and-mortar shops in your area too.
If you've never gotten her a lamp before, how about this 1) On the Square table lamp from Possini ($150)? It's handsome, unusual, and the line is carried by Lamps Plus. While you're out, you could pick her up a 2) wooden croquet set ($48) from Anthropologie, if she doesn't already have one of those, and/or a 3) pink Nintendo DS ($130) from Toys R Us, if she doesn't already have one of those.
You've probably already given her quite a few movies, but 4) Shakespeare In Love ($10) is a fun and slightly random choice, and although you're not likely to find this 5) Eric Carle Blue Horse print ($15) anywhere but online, it's nice to look at in and of itself and would be a touching choice if she read his books to you when you were little. I'll wrap up with another gift you probably haven't given her yet: 6) a hot air balloon ride. I don't know what there is along those lines in your area, but if you're facing a time crunch, you should at least be able to make the reservation (for a future date) in time.
Good luck, Brittney, and happy birthday to your mom!
