Suzanne writes, "Hello ladies!!! I just found out I am preggo!! I am due in June so I am going to need some basic cold weather staples to help me last through the frozen north of Michigan! I am in Traverse City, and the cold likes to last until may UGH. Besides outerwear,I don't want to spend more than 40 dollars an item (we are saving for a baby!!) I am a size 18, and wear a size 9 shoe (though I have my fabu Sorels). I have a pretty lax dress code at work so help me out!"
Congratulations, Suzanne! As a fellow Northern clim preggo lady, I figured I'd tackle your wardrobe challenge. I didn't come up with the flashiest outfits, but when you're walking around with a watermelon strapped to the front of you in -10 degree weather, you're going to want basic, warm staples that coordinate with each other. My advice? Don't be afraid to layer or show off the bump. Big, bulky pieces are just going to make you feel like a large blob, which I'm sure you're waaay too cute for!
- Maternity Waffle-Knit Hooded Tunic ($18, on sale)
- Splendid Maternity Tie-Dye Asymmetrical Tee ($40)
- Basic Seamless Maternity Tank ($13) It looks like they've sold out of your size here, but I'd still look into getting a good maternity tank in a neutral color for under sweaters and tees!
- Liz Lange Maternity Long-Sleeve Ruched Henley Tee ($20)
- Scoop Neck Dolman Sleeve Maternity T Shirt ($30)
- Red Herring Maternity Knitted Maternity Dress (£30/$41) It goes just above your price point after shipping overseas, but definitely consider a fun, warm dress and a pair of supportive maternity tights for the Holidays!
- Gap Supersoft Leggings ($30)
- Mid Belly Bi-stretch Suiting Maternity Pants ($37)
- Maternity Fold-Over Skirts ($17, on sale) I seriously LIVE in these yoga skirts!
- 5 Pocket Straight Leg Maternity Jeans ($45) A good pair of pregnancy jeans is priceless!
