Personal Shopper: A Train Case for Allison's Sis

Allison writes, My lovely, quirky and sassy sister Sarah is turning 26 and moving to the big apple in 1 month! Eek! I'm super excited for her new adventure and her birthday. She's my favorite =) I'd love to help her arrive in her new abode with some essentials, which is why I need your help! She's had a blue kaboodle since junior high-it's time to upgrade her tool-box. I want to fill it with other goodies, so if you have any suggestions on some fun makeup or other beauty must-haves...that'd be fabulous! She loves makeup so something larger and more structured is essential. Vintagey or funky would be fun! I'm looking for something $50 or less? You guys always find such wonderful treasures-I'm excited!

Awe, Allison, that is super cute! Robin here - I've got 6 awesome train cases for you. None of them are vintage-y, but they're super functional and more structured. If you're looking for vintage, a simple search for "train case" on ebay turns up a ton, though most don't have the compartments of these picks. As for goodies to fill it with, you can't go wrong with e.l.f. products - they're not the highest quality, but they're SUPER affordable and a good way to play around with new colors. I like their mineral eyeshadows, and you can score a huge brush set on the cheap.

4. Casemetic Silver Floral Aluminum Case ($35)
5.Seya Makeup Train Studio Case ($50)
6. Seya Red Aluminum Train Case ($30)

Hey! What's wrong with Caboodles? I've had the same one since I graduated 21 years ago!

Dude, yours is still operational? You must be far gentler than I am - mine never lasted longer than a year or so.

Do NOT buy number 2!!! I have it and I HATE it. It takes us waaaay too much space when opened up and you can totally tell that it was only $30 from wal-mart. Ick!
