Personal Shopper: A tankini with shorts for Allie Kay

Allie Kay wrote: "Love, Love, Love your site! I need your help. My wonderful boyfriend is turning 24 and he wants to go to a water park for his birthday, which I am all down for. Only problem is I am not running around a water park in a two piece bathing suit. I was wondering if you could help me find a tankini top with board shorts or any lose fitting swim shorts? I am a size large to extra large on top and on bottom I am a XXL(I have some booty to cover. All that I have found looks like something my Grandma would wear. Please help me find something young and cute to wear! Thank you and keep posting all the amazing products you find! Your Friend, Allie Kay"

I found a great suit at Athleta--highly recommend. Lots of mix and match tops, too.

The July 2011 Shop Smart magazine has suits that look best on 5 different body types--not a 2-piece in the lot.

Athleta has suits that are much cuter, and their mix-and-match tankinis (with swim shorts) are so much less ... well, middle-aged than the selections above. The boyfriend is 24; we can probably guess that this lady's under 50, and she deserves something CUTE. Yeesh, Outblush people, are you just having a bad week? Between this and your heinous Southwestern blanket suggestions,* I'm beginning to question my good opinion of your team.

*Granted, your update is a huge improvement.

Well, given that the girl who requested this emailed us back saying she liked the selections, as far as I'm concerned, this one was a success. The opinion that matters is that of the Personal Shopper recipient.

I did love what they suggested for me! They gave me some new places to look that I have not seen before. Outblush does a great job of posting a variety of selection to meet the different tastes of the shoppers who vist here.
