Personal Shopper: A plum wedding gown for Carole
Carole J. wrote, "Help, Outblush! I hate to admit it, but I'm a middle-aged woman getting married. Wearing white or ivory at my age will only induce snickers. I'd like to wear plum--after all, everyone knows the bridesmaids get to wear the best colors. It isn't that big a stretch. Brides have only been wearing white since Queen Victoria in the 1850s. All the dresses I've found look too "bridesmaidsy." I'm looking for a floor-length plum dress for a January wedding. Can you point me to some options? Thanks!"
