Personal Shopper: A New Grandpa Cardigan for Rachel

Rachel writes: "I had this wool blend medium grey boyfriend/grandpa cardigan that I wore constantly, and it got all pilled and horrible and kind of smelly after three or four years and I had to let it go a couple months ago. I need a replacement, and fall is fast approaching. I want it in a Large and I'm willing to spend up to $100. I'd like it to have a v-neck and pockets, and hit at my hips or lower."

Ah yes, I've kept items that I've loved for too long in my closet before, pretending that nobody else would notice. Good for you for taking that painful, yet necessary, step. Here's a variety of cardigans that I've found in colors in the grey spectrum. Hopefully one of them can be your constant, pilly, smelly companion for another several years!

1. Knitted Moss Stitch Cardi ($76)
2. French Connection Gina Oversized Cardigan ($81)
3. Mohair Loose Cardigan ($89)
4. Grey Boyfriend Cardigan ($70)
5. Olive & Oak Colorblock Cardigan ($59)
6. Talula Lenox Sweater ($95)
7. Long Cardigan ($90)

mtn_bighorn.pngZhide here: I can't give you an opinion on your purse because I seem unable to form opinions about purses, but I can give you strong opinions on which chambray shirt you should buy (all of them), how bright is too bright for a pair of shorts (no such thing), my favorite paper goods (love that smell), and hip items for the home (though dappled sunlight is the best decoration).

Thanks! I'm into 1, 3 and 6 but I'll have to ask my kids which one they'd prefer to wipe their noses on!

Love this color block cardigan, and posted it to What Goes With This?, they have recommendations for outfits from a community of fashionistas: http://whatgoeswiththis.co/#request/77
