Personal Shopper: A brown maid of honor dress & cowboy boots for Kelli's sister's October wedding

Kelli wrote: "Dear Personal Shopper (probably Janetor will be best for this one), My sister is getting married in October and I am the maid of honor. The wedding theme is outdoorsy-Western. She is riding in on a horse, decorations will be sunflowers and hay bales, and all the wedding party is required to wear cowboy boots. This is completely the opposite of my style. I don't even own a pair of cowboy boots! My sister is letting us chose our own dresses; the only requirements are that it is brown, short (above or right below the knee is fine), and looks good with cowboy boots. I need your help finding both the dress and the boots! I wear a size 18 dress and a size 8 wide shoe. I am pretty busty so I would love to be able to wear a bra with the dress. I would like to spend as little as possible. Probably a maximum of $300 for both. Less if possible. I absolutely love Outblush and you guys give the best advice! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I'm completely lost! -Kelli"

Well, yeehaw, Kelli! Janetor here, and I'm sending tons of positive vibes that the wedding ceremony proceeds WITHOUT any guests (or the bride!) stepping in horse, erm, 'leavings.' Since the wedding sounded more casual, I focused on less bridesmaid-y dresses (no satin, silk, etc) and more on ones that you might actually want to wear again, ones that can be made to look more "Western" with the right accessories. I also rounded up two pairs of brown, size 8W cowboy boots that, again, could be worn again without looking TOO cowboy-ish. Hope this helps, and congrats to your sister on her engagement!

Kelli, I don't know about you - but I'm about the same size and my calves never work well in boots that high - oh that they would! There are some ankle "cowboyesque" out there that might be better...if you indeed share my calf issues. Otherwise they seem to cut off midcalve and make me wider than I like...
