Kristin K. writes: "Hi Ladies! I was just invited to a Great Gatsby-themed evening garden party at the end of August. While I know I can easily find the perfect accessories, I am stuck on the dress. I am a size 12 dress with a big bust and hips, but defined waist. I can't find a 20's-ish dress that flatters at all! (Those drop-waists are often unforgiving) I'm open to all suggestions, but keep in mind that I am pretty fair, and have auburn hair, so nothing too pale in color, please! I'd like to keep it around $100 if possible. THANKS!! Thanks again! Kristin"
Hi Kristin! I'm Found of You. 20s fashions were really not kind to curvy ladies. You could go as a boobalicious alien Daisybot from Great Gatsby: Space Odyssey 3024 (which I just made up) or you could wear one of the dresses above. None of them are completely 20s except the kimono, but with the right accessories, you'll fit in just fine, especially if you kick everyone's ass at croquet. This is just someone's party, after all, and not a historically correct docu-drama. Amirite? Good luck! (P.S. Tell them to do a 40s pinup girl party next time. You'll rock it, girl.)
