Gimme a "S"! Gimme a "T"! Gimme a "Y"! Gimme a "L"! Gimme a "E"! What's that spell?
BACK TO SCHOOL FASHION!
Ok, no it doesn't. But we weren't English majors (we totally were) so don't expect much. But what we do expect from you as a loyal Outblush readers is that y'all be well versed in the language of back-to-school arts which is why we bring to you A Collegiate Collection: For the Hippie in the California Forest. Any girl should know that college is a place of higher learning (duh) but it's also a place to showcase your fashion chops. You should develop a stronger sense of style along with a strong GPA, never compromising one for the other. You should be the prettiest, smartest co-ed you can possibly be. And with these university must-haves, you'll be on the Outblush Dean's List every semester.
This installment of A Collegiate Collection takes place in the lovely, forested mountains that are your college campus. We won't say exactly where, but imagine an overgrowth of deer, a happy yellow slug for a mascot, lots of hacky sack, and the option to major in History of Consciousness. The object here is to look cute without overdressing. Seeing a high heel on this campus is pretty much the funniest thing on this planet, and getting dressed up means changing out of your pajama jeans and into your actual jeans.
You Don't Have to Get Dressed for Class:
This is a very laid back environment. You'll be fine in pants that barely pass as outside clothes, a comfy tee, a sweatshirt, and flip flops. You don't even really need the flips flops. Plenty of folks here go shoeless. A simple messenger bag will carry your books, papers, and trail mix. This same wardrobe applies for hanging out after class, parties in the dorms, and going to the cafeteria. If you can't stand looking this casual, you can wear jeans.

2 - Hippie T-Shirt ($19)
3 - Contrast Foldover Yoga Pant ($24)
4 - Reef Mallory Flip Flop ($19)
5 - Steve Madden Bag ($53)
Your new forest home is pretty isolated, and if you're living in the dorms, you won't leave campus too much during your first year. If you do, you might want to change out of your sweats. Wear jeans, flats, a tee, and some jewelry. Have one cute (but casual) dress and some fancier flip flops on hand for when that handsome Senior offers to pick you up in his truck and take you out for sushi in town. If you're of legal drinking age, and there are some dance clubs around, you can up the ante a little more with heels and a fancier top, but stick with the jeans. We're still erring on the casual side.
